Dough Ray Me

Yesterday’s poem rewrite was actually triggered by this song rewrite that happened earlier in the day, and this rewrite was triggered by my brain randomly deciding that L.A. (as in Los Angeles) should be pronounced “la” like the note between “so” and “ti” in the song from Sound of Music. Why my brain thought that would be a good idea is beyond my ability to explain, but once I’d thought it, rewriting the song was the next step and it all flowed from there.

Dough, some cash, to build my stash Ray, that shoots from a ray-gun Me, the base of all politics Far, Earths distance from the sun Sew, stitches needed from attack LA, where fires are aglow Tea, when gossip fires back That will bring us back to dough

You can see some themes emerging. We’re living through some dark times and we need to resist the darkness. I’ve got a couple more rewrites coming, then maybe I’ll talk about some original songs or take a look back at some other projects.

In housekeeping, I added an hcard to the site for the “indieweb,” fixed up the CSS a tad. Haven’t gone back through the archives yet, so expect some cobwebs there.

Thanks for being here.
